The Senate
Our senior pupils
The Senate is a group of Year 11 pupils who have been appointed following a rigorous application process. The roles are: Head of Senate, Deputy Head of Senate and Chair of the various Pupil Forums: Ethos, Eco/Animal, Arts, Equality/Diversity, Sports, Wellbeing and International. This group represents the voice of the pupils here at Sawston, meeting weekly with the Deputy Principal to discuss views, ideas and initiatives. The Forum Chairs meet with the other pupils in their forum groups each half term and use this time to plan and deliver projects. Some examples include: organising charity events, investigating what makes good teaching and learning (and feeding back to staff), leading our International Week events, taking part in Holocaust Memorial Day events, teaching Year 6 pupils, raising awareness of global issues, and much more.
