In 2023, pupils at Sawston Village College demonstrated, once again, that hard work and determination will lead to success: 64% of all pupils achieved a Grade 5+ in English and Maths (78% Grade 4+) and 45% of pupils achieved 5 or more results at grade 7 or higher.

The percentage of pupils entering a combination of subjects to achieve the EBacc was 47% and the percentage of pupils actually achieving the EBacc was an impressive 42%. Attainment 8 was 58.3. The Progress 8 score for 2023 was +0.73 suggesting that pupils perform significantly higher than on average nationally across a broad range of subjects. The 2023 set of results places us in the top 7% of schools nationally.

96% of our pupils remained in sustained education, employment or were undertaking an apprenticeship.

We are delighted for our pupils who have worked exceptionally hard to achieve these excellent results. This richly deserved success has been achieved thanks to the dedicated care, guidance and teaching of all our members of staff and the tremendous support shown by our parents. We are very proud of our 2023 cohort and wish them all the best in the future.

Given the uneven impact of the pandemic on school and college performance data, the government has said you should not make direct comparisons between the performance data for one school or college and another, or to data from previous years.

The Department for Education performance tables are available at https://www.gov.uk/school-performance-tables. The performance tables page for Sawston Village College can be found here.
