As a result of the coronavirus pandemic there have been no formal exams since the summer of 2019. Therefore, the information provided below relates to the GCSE results in 2019.

The pupils at Sawston Village College demonstrated, once again, that hard work and determination will lead to success: In 2019, 62% of all pupils achieved a strong pass Grade 5+ in English and Maths (78% Grade 4+); 39% of all exam results were at Grade 7-9; 11% of all exams were gained at the very highest level, Grade 9, with three pupils achieving the highest grade in all 10 or 11 subjects taken.

The percentage of pupils entering the EBacc was 61% and the percentage of pupils achieving the EBacc was an impressive 40%. Progress 8 in 2019 was +0.57 meaning that, for the second year running, pupils at Sawston Village College made over half a grade better progress than on average nationally across a broad range of subjects. Attainment 8 was 56.8.

For this year, 96% of our pupils remained in sustained education, employment or were undertaking an apprenticeship.

We are delighted for our pupils who have worked exceptionally hard to achieve these excellent results. This richly deserved success has been achieved thanks to the dedicated care, guidance and teaching of all our members of staff and the tremendous support shown by our parents. We are very proud of our 2019 cohort and wish them all the best in the future.
