Year 8/9 Girls Football: Sawston 6 – 2 Swavesey

The Year 8 and 9 girls combined to play an 11 a-side fixture against a Year 9 Swavesey team in treacherous weather conditions. We were by far the better team in the first half, scoring two excellent goals. However, against the run of play, Swavesey scored two stunning goals from outside the box to make it 2-2 at half time. In the second half, we started taking more of our chances and went on to score four excellent team goals, running out eventual winners 6-2. Libby Unwin, again, was our main goal scorer, with an incredible 5 goals, with Keely Cole adding the sixth. Special mentions go to Amaleigh who was solid in goal, Bea for organising the defence, Imsy and Bryony for being disciplined in central midfield and Keely for some excellent driving runs to set up goal scoring opportunities for Libby. Another excellent performance with three wins on the bounce. Well done again ladies!
