Fixture against St Bede's

Another win for Sawston’s sports teams saw our mixed under 16s win against St Bede’s on 13 October 2024. This friendly match was a great experience for some of our examination candidates, with plenty of support from our talented team of players. 

Harry Sample (2) came in with a solid goal to put us in the lead. Despite some strong play from St Bede’s, it was not enough to stop us progressing into the D to make attempts on goal. Shortly after, we had Dexter Smith (1) contribute to the scoreboard with a fantastic goal. Lots of great plays by Imsy Butler-Burd and Harry Johnson left us in a comfortable lead going into the second half. The second half had plenty of back and forth between the players, which eventually led to Harry Sample scoring his second. Rosie Whitworth contributed to the team with lots of technical plays for Sawston to react to and plenty of balls in towards our players.

The game ended 3-0, a very well deserved result. A special mention to Harry Chatwin in goal who made plenty of exceptional saves, fending off multiple opportunities by the opposition. Well done all.
