Fundraising Challenge
I am completing a fundraising challenge on 6th – 7th April where I will run a mile every hour, for 24 hours. I am doing this in support of the Sports Forum and our goal of raising money for a VEO camera. I have created a go fund me page for people who would like to support this challenge. Our forum has agreed that fundraising for a VEO camera will have the most impact on the department as it will allow the facilitation of fixture footage, moderation and sports analysis that we can implement across the department and wider school.
Our goal by the end of the academic year is to raise enough funds to support the purchase of a VEO camera which will allow the facilitation of more impactful teaching and extra-curricular experiences here at Sawston. Being able to document the talent of our pupils at home and away fixtures will allow us to highlight the goals and successes of the sports we play in and publicise these across our bulletins and school website, therefore generating a schoolwide culture of sport and showcasing the successes of our pupils.
I will be completing two challenges between now and the end of the year which I am to hoping will support the fundraising for this equipment:
- A 24 hour Run #AMileAnHour
- TBC by our Sports Forum in our Summer Term 2024.
On the 6th – 7th of April from 8:00pm to 8:00pm the following day, I will be completing our first challenge. I will be running 1 mile, every hour, for 24 hours. A full mile will need to be completed within the hour for the full 24 hour period specified.
My goal is to show all of our pupils that we should challenge our capabilities, I hope to inspire those that we teach to do more and push themselves.
