Singing at Selwyn College

Year 10 and 11 Choirs take part in Evensong

On 29 February, Year 10 and 11 choir members from Sawston Village College were invited by Sarah MacDonald (Director of Music at Selwyn College, University of Cambridge) to sing as part of Evensong alongside members of Selwyn College Chapel Choir. After the service, we were invited for pizza and ice cream, and had the opportunity to talk with Selwyn students and find out more about studying at Cambridge University. This fantastic opportunity allowed us to explore the possibilities of singing in a choir at university. It was a great success, and both Sawston pupils and Selwyn College Choir members sang brilliantly. I am sure that it has inspired many Sawston pupils to take their singing more seriously and to continue with it after secondary school.
