Year 9 Netball

Fixture against St Bede's

Our Year 9s had their first netball fixture of the season on 31 January 2024. After a challenging first quarter against some very strong St Bede’s players, our attackers started to break through their defence, and Ashleigh added two goals to the score sheet.

Despite some incredible runs from our centre court players and excellent support around the D from Chloe and Libby, Sawston were not quite able to break through St Bede’s defence to work the ball close enough to get another shot on goal.

The game finished 2-6 to St Bede’s. 

POM goes to Martha Barlow for her outstanding defensive work. Following several well timed intercepts, she was able to turn over the possession on multiple occasions and patiently found the best option to play the ball back into the centre court.

Well done to everyone; you should be proud of your first performance, we certainly are! Onwards and upwards…
