U14 Girls English Schools Cup – First Leg Success
Last week, Sawston played their first leg of the U14 Girls English Schools Cup, earning a fantastic result against Impington Village College with a win of 3-2. The girls demonstrated a dominating performance throughout their first fixture of the cup, with fantastic teamwork from them all. The first half saw Libby Unwin score two fantastic goals with some brilliant plays by Imsy Bulter-Burd, giving us a strong lead against Impington. An incredible corner kick delivered from Bea White gave Libby an opportunity to fire the ball into the back of the net. Some star performances from Coco Williams and Annie Sainson kept the team’s momentum up the pitch, again supporting Libby for her hat-trick. Both Bella Seymour and Imogen Alcock were a strong pairing to hold the back of the field alongside Ines Lao-Sirieix as goalkeeper. A special mention is to be given to Courtney Clark who stepped up an age group to play alongside Sawston Year 9s, where her contributions helped to facilitate such an important first win.
Well done all!
