YOGA FOUNDATIONS (Asana, Meditation & Pranayama) Monday 19.30-20.30
COURSE DETAILS AND AIMS:
This 10 week course will introduce the foundations of yoga practice,
including the Asana (poses), Meditation, and Pranayama (breathing
exercises), gradually increasing and building on the practice at a
comfortable and individualised pace as the weeks progress.
The aim is to ease students safely and gently into a regular yoga
practice to support well-being, body and breath awareness, and improve
strength and flexibility in a kind and supportive community environment.
SKILLS OR QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:
No qualifications or yoga experience is necessary.
MATERIALS/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED FOR FIRST CLASS:
Yoga mat, 2 yoga blocks, light blanket, loose comfortable clothing.
ABOUT YOUR TUTOR: VICKY CARR
Vicky has been practising yoga since 2001 when seeking a class to
improve tone, flexibility and relaxation after the birth of her first child.
The multiple and extensive benefits of Yoga were soon realised and led
to attending regular classes and retreats to deepen knowledge, practice
and the philosophy and history of Yoga.
Vicky completed Yoga Teacher training with the Inner Yoga Trust in
Manchester between 2009-2012 and teaching has included general
Hatha Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Pregnancy Yoga and Yoga to support
Mental Health Recovery.
