YOGA FOR ALL - MONDAY 19:30-20:30

COURSE DETAILS AND AIMS:
This yoga course aims to provide an introduction to yoga practice for those new to yoga and a continuation of regular practice for those with prior experience. Each week the class will include the Yogasana (physical poses) as well as practices from the other limbs of yoga including Meditation and Pranayama (yogic breathing practice). The aim is to do this in an accessible way that shares the wondrous benefits of the range of yoga practices and that supports learners to incorporate practice into their daily life if they wish to. What to expect each week: *Opening meditation and pranayama *A range of seated and standing yogasana *Mediation and Savasana (ending relaxation) Furthermore, the course aim is to create a safe and inclusive space to practice yoga together where all are welcomed and feel safe to do so. In practising yoga together as a group regularly we create our own small yoga community of practice where we come together each week.

SKILLS OR QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:
No prior yoga experience is necessary to join this course.

MATERIALS/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED FOR FIRST CLASS:
Yoga mat, 2 yoga blocks or bricks and a blanket for relaxation.

FURTHER INFORMATION:
Aim to arrive 5-10 mins early to get settled. Each week, let the tutor know if you have any new injuries or anything you feel is relevant to be shared. This will enable suitable modifications and adaptations to be made.

ABOUT YOUR TUTOR:  VICKY CARR
Vicky has been practising yoga since 2001 after the birth of her first baby as a way to improve flexibility, strength and for relaxation. After years of attending classes she wanted to understand more about yoga philosophy and trained as a teacher between 2010 and 2012 with the Inner Yoga Trust in the North West of England. The course was transformational and Vicky has continued teaching yoga since relocating to Cambridge in 2014. Yoga with Vicky includes a range of asana (postures), meditation and pranayama (breathing exercises) that is accessible to all. Classes are taught in a trauma informed way, having undertaken additional training and this is an area of interest. In 2025 Vicky undertook further training in Mindfulness Meditation at Yoga Campus London and is keen to incorporate this learning more into yoga classes. Vicky completed Vinyasa Yoga teacher training in October 2025.
