GUITAR FOR BEGINNERS Tuesday 19.15-21.15
COURSE DETAILS AND AIMS:
This course is for the complete beginner with little or no musical
knowledge or experience. Skills and techniques will be taught aimed at
preparing the learner to play any style of guitar music. The course will
provide an introduction to reading music and tablature, strumming
patterns, picking techniques, soloing and building a repertoire of songs,
chord progressions and well known riffs.

MATERIALS/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED FOR FIRST CLASS:
One working guitar and the following book to aid with reading music:
The Guitarist’s Way, Book 1 by Peter Nuttall and John Whitworth.

ABOUT YOUR TUTOR: JAMES FREE
James Free is a multi instrumentalist with over 20 years experience in
teaching music. He gained his BA (Hons) Music from Anglia Polytechnic
University, Cambridge in 1998 and PTLLS teaching qualifications in
2013. As well as teaching, James has been a performing musician,
touring the UK, Europe and the United States. He has performed with a
wide variety of artists including Tom Robinson and venues including
Glastonbury Festival.
