SEED SAVING AND SOWING SATURDAY 8TH MARCH 10.00-16.00
COURSE DETAILS AND AIMS:
Learn how to save and sow seed with a qualified seed certification
professional. The course will cover how to achieve successful results
collecting, drying, storing and sowing seed. We will look at and explain
topics including the biology of seeds, pollination, germination and how
to get your seeds off to a healthy start.
The range of species covered will be tailored to the interests of learners
and can include vegetables, fruits, trees, ornamental flowers, wildflowers
etc.
There will be a focus on providing practical skills for learners to take
away, as well as an understanding of the science and theory behind
them.
SKILLS OR QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:
Suitable for beginners and those with some experience looking to
develop their knowledge and understanding.
MATERIALS/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED FOR FIRST CLASS:
A notebook and pen/pencil will be useful for taking notes.

Ross Lilley is a registered plant health professional and official seed
inspector with over 10 years’ experience working in the agriculture and
horticulture industry. In his spare time, Ross has managed an organic
vegetable garden and allotment for over 15 years, where he can
usually be found with his young family.
