GARDEN DESIGN (BEGINNERS) - WEDNESDAY 19.00-21.00
COURSE DETAILS AND AIMS:
Introduction to Garden Design (Autumn, Spring terms) , Advanced Garden Design (Summer term). Learn how to design from scratch, or redesign your garden. We will cover design inspirations, design principles, surveying techniques, scale drawing, choosing hard landscape materials, and right plant right place.
SKILLS OR QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:
None for the Introduction course. Prior completion of the Introduction course (or similar) for the Advanced course.
MATERIALS/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED FOR FIRST CLASS:
Nothing required for the first class. The tutor will explain what is needed for subsequent classes.
ADDITIONAL COURSE COSTS (IF APPLICABLE):
You will need a metric scale rule £6-£9, plenty of A3 and A4 paper and tracing paper, pencils, pencil sharpener and a rubber.
ABOUT YOUR TUTOR: PAUL HERRINGTON
Paul Herrington is an RHS Chelsea Flower Show medal-winning garden designer with over three decades of experience who has worked in a range of private, public, commercial and therapeutic gardens. Paul also runs Grow Places, a social enterprise that works in hospital and community gardens alongside people with mental and physical health problems.
