GROW YOUR OWN (WINTER VEGETABLE GARDENING) - MONDAY 19.00-21.00
COURSE DETAILS AND AIMS:
In this special edition of our vegetable growing evening course we will be looking at how to keep our plots productive over the winter months and prepare them for the spring growing season. From winter jobs such as mulching and soil preparation to designing crop plans for winter harvests and making best use of polytunnels and greenhouses, we will be looking at what to do when to keep our harvests coming right through winter and ensuring our plot gets off to a flying start in the spring. If winter on your allotment or vegetable garden has traditionally been a time of rest then it’s time to discover a whole new season of productive vegetable gardening!
SKILLS OR QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:
None. Suitable for beginners and those with some experience looking to develop their knowledge and understanding.
MATERIALS/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED FOR FIRST CLASS:
None, but a notebook and pen/pencil will be useful throughout.
ADDITIONAL COURSE COSTS (IF APPLICABLE):
Learners may wish to purchase seeds, plants and supplies (pots, compost, propagator etc) to grow along at home during the course.
ABOUT YOUR TUTOR: ROSS LILLEY
Ross Lilley is a registered plant health professional and official seed inspector with over 10 years’ experience working in the agriculture and
horticulture industry. In his spare time, Ross has managed an organic vegetable garden and allotment for over 15 years, where he can usually be found with his young family.
