GROW YOUR OWN: FRUIT & VEGETABLE GARDENING Monday 19.00-21.00

COURSE DETAILS AND AIMS:
The course will cover everything from planning your plot through to
bringing in your harvest, including: sowing and planting, soil and soil
management, feeding and watering, pests, weeds and diseases, growing
under cover and in depth looks at how to grow a range of different fruit
and vegetable crops.
There will be a focus on providing practical ideas for learners to take
away, as well as an understanding of the science and theory behind
them.

SKILLS OR QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:
None. Suitable for beginners and those with some experience looking to
develop their knowledge and understanding.

MATERIALS/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED FOR FIRST CLASS:
A notebook and pen/pencil will be useful throughout. Paper, pencil and
ruler will be useful for second lesson but this will be explained at the
first class. Additional equipment (such as hand lenses) for other classes
will be provided.

ABOUT YOUR TUTOR:  ROSS LILLEY
Ross Lilley is a registered plant health professional with over 10 years’
experience working in agriculture and horticulture. In his spare time
Ross has managed an organic vegetable garden and allotment for over
15 years, where he can usually be found with his young family.
