Drawing from Life - observing and exploring the world in your sketchbook - Monday

We will will use a variety of techniques and materials to explore tone,
line, mark making, composition, colour, and imagination through
observational drawing. You will develop your ability to really look and
record what you see, whilst working playfully in your sketchbook.
This course is appropriate for both beginners and more experienced
artists, we will all make progress from whatever our starting point.

My name is Robyn Wilson-Owen and I am a children’s book illustrator. I have been published by Egmont,
Tiny Owl, Boxer Books and Andersen Press. I’m currently working on
my fifth book.

My work has been book of the week in the Sunday Times, a pick for the
summer in The Guardian, longlisted for the SPARK and UKLA book
awards and featured as an Empathy day book.
My illustration work is heavily rooted in observational drawing and
sketchbook experimentation. I am passionate about drawing from life as
a way of understanding the world and generating ideas.
I have an MA with distinction in children’s book illustration from
Cambridge School of Art and many years experience in running
workshops.
